Biography

Anthony David Gipe has worked for many years in complex civil litigation in Oregon, Washington, and California, including Business and Corporate Law, Employment Law, Civil Litigation and Appeals, Construction Defect Litigation, Family and Domestic Law, Gay and Lesbian Law, Tort Litigation, Personal Injury, Product Failures, Insurance Litigation, and Civil Rights, representing both plaintiffs and defendants.

Anthony’s current practice focuses on civil litigation, personal injury, discrimination, employment, civil rights, and some business litigation. Anthony has experience in all sizes of cases, from small business matters to multi-million dollar claims, in state and federal courts.

Military:
Anthony developed his strategic and analytical skills long before he embarked on a legal career. He enjoyed a long and distinguished tenure in the United States Navy, where he served as a Russian language interpreter and intelligence analyst.

Professional Associations and Memberships:
Anthony is a founding board member of the Washington State Bar Association Leadership Institute Advisory Board, and has been a board member and a faculty member for the Leadership Institute since its inception. Anthony was also a founding board member for QLAW: the LBGT Lawyers Association of Washington. Recently, Anthony served on the Washington State Bar Association’s Board of Governors as one of the At-Large Governors, from 2008-2011. Most of Anthony’s time on the BOG was devoted to trying to increase minority participation in the profession and the Association, a task he continues to serve at the Association.

Education and Achievements:
Anthony has studied anthropology, linguistics, Russian language, art, art history, and comparative history from multiple universities. He received his Juris Doctor from the University of Washington School of Law. In 2002 and 2003 Washington Law & Politics readers voted Anthony a "Rising Star" in the legal profession.

Hobbies and Interests:
When Anthony is not practicing law, he pursues his hobbies in fitness, fine arts, painting, and poetry; and Anthony is a self-described “foodie” and enjoys cooking and eating many types of cuisine.
